Heute habe ich wieder Wache (Unt(er)Off(izier) vom Dienst). Hast Du die 10 M(ark) erhalten? Morgen hat Fr(eun)d Kraschner Wache, ich werde also voraussichtlich wieder solo trippeln müssen. (F) Es wäre mir überhaupt lieb wenn Du Propaganda dafür machen könntest. Wie ist der Verlauf Deines heutigen Geburtstagsfestes? Schade, dass ich nicht dort sein kann. This is German “poetry” at its worst (definitely neither Goethe nor Schiller) with “Knittelreimen” (rough rhymes)

In contrast to that, a submarine poem by a real poet

The Trade is the name which the Royal Navy Submarine Branch used for itself in the First World War
