Here are a few pictures of a gray fox and four pups that have been hanging out in back recently. The pups were a lot of fun to watch, and they stayed for an hour at least. They were *very* active — zipping around everywhere, trying to climb up the slide, climbing up and down the wood pile, wrestling with each other. They were even climbing the trees a couple of feet and hanging on, which is something I had no idea they could do. I was lucky to get three of the four in the shot at the same time.

Here’s what I believe is an 1897 Krag bayonet with scabbard, probably from the Spanish-American War. It’s marked “1897″ on the blade, and “lNY143″ on the belt clip on the scabbard. It’s covered in some gunk that I can’t identify.

If you happen to know anything at all about this blade, please comment! I’ve had it since I was a kid and I’d love to learn more about it.
